5Alive!
APPEAL!
You may have seen in the May issue of 5Alive that it could be the last one. Since I wrote that note, we’ve received some donations which means that the June and July/August will go ahead. We’ve also managed to reduce the print cost substantially. However, the gap between cost and advertising revenue is still substantial so if anyone wants to make a donation it will be very welcome. Contact me for more information. We’re also looking into other possibilities, including a 100 Club, a kind of lottery – keep your eyes open for an announcement about this. Fingers crossed it will all be sorted out before too long.

5Alive is the parish magazine which covers Buckland Dinham as well as the villages in the Mells group, Chantry, Great Elm, Mells with Vobster and Whatley and has been going for more than 40 years. Its content was initially solely church orientated but now it’s very much a mixture of village and church news. It was originally printed on a duplicator in a room above the main entrance to Mells church but over time it’s evolved into the professionally printed publication you may well be familiar with now.
It’s distributed free to more than 700 homes in all five villages with more copies available from pubs, churches and other places and it’s published on village websites too, (including this one) making it an ideal means of advertising local businesses.
More information is available from the editor, Peter Corbett. You can contact him on 01373 466536 or via email on [email protected].
